DESCRIPTION

Welcome to the Web Development Essentials bootcamp. If you’ve ever wanted to build your own web page or to do it for others, then this is the course for you. Web development can mean different things to different people. This course focuses on the fundamental languages of the web, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You will master the skills necessary to create interactive websites taking your ideas out of your head and onto the world wide web even if you have never done any programming before.

The idea of programming can seem intimidating. Sometimes just using computers for basic functions can be frustrating. I know, it happens to me too. My commitment to you is to take you step-by-step through building your first web page demystifying the technology, tools and languages used to it. We’ll then walk together to create more complex and exciting websites, progressively building upon your new web development skills as we go. The key here is we’re going to do this together.

We’ve incorporated everything you need to learn effectively to include our best lectures, exercises, projects, presentation slides, downloadable resources, Code-A-longs, assignments, and more. You’ll also have access to our private development group where you will be able to interact with me, your instructor, teaching assistants, other instructors, fellow students, etc.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR:

  • Beginners who want to know how to build professional web pages
  • Designers who want to upgrade their skills with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Job seekers who want to learn a remote skill and improve their quality of life
  • Do-it-yourselfers who want a little guidance or support to become a web developer

WEB DEVELOPMENT ESSENTIALS

Front-end web development, also known as client-side development is the practice of producing HTML, CSS and JavaScript for a website or web application so that a user can see and interact with them directly. In this course, students will explore best practices related to designing to ensure an optimal user experience. Students are tasked with hands-on exercises to create single page designs based on their established use-case. Rounding out this course, students will leverage JavaScript and data from API resources to achieve integration and add both data behaviors and manipulation.
